Canada
Canada is my homeland, although probably ninety percent of it is still unknown to me. What is known intimately is the area in and around Ottawa, Canada's capital, Montreal and the region around the Thousand Islands, where we have our family cottage. I have visited the west coast a couple of times, but so far have not been inspired by the landscape there. Perhaps it is my Cape Cod preference for flat lines, horizontals and sweeping, uninterrupted skies. Also, I suppose this is natural, but a large percentage of my Canadian work is snowy. Like the Canadian Group of Seven, I am fascinated by the explosive range of coloration there is in a simple snow scene.
